About Crocus Restaurant Milwaukee Wisconsin
As one of the last remaining true Polish restaurants in the Milwaukee area, Crocus is continuing the tradition of homemade polish food. Owners Andrzej and Elzbeita Wasielewski left Poland in 1964 and came to the United States with a dream to share their traditional Polish food with the community. In 1983 Crocus Restaurant opened bringing the true Polish dining experience to Milwaukee. Twenty-nine years later, their vision is still going strong as Crocus Restaurant has become known as the best Polish cuisine in Milwaukee. Known for our reviews on ExpressMilwaukee.com and our recent Blue Ribbon Award for excellence in food preparation and customer care, Crocus is the only place in Milwaukee you will find a true, authentic Polish dining experience.
With Andrzej and Elzbeita looking to retire, Crocus Restaurant is being passed on to Joel and his wife Dorota Rewolinski. Joel, a third generation Polish chef. Taught to cook traditional Polish food by his father Tom, Joel and Dorota bring their distinct background of Polish heritage and catering business knowledge, to the table. With the restaurant management know how and expertise in authentic Polish cooking, Joel and Dorota will take Crocus Restaurant to a new level of fine Polish dining in Milwaukee.
Crocus Restaurant’s name is derived from the crocus flower. A distinctive flower of the Malopolska region of Poland, the crocus is one of the first flowers to bloom every year, symbolizing the approach of spring. Crocus flowers can be found in abundance in the Tatra Mountains, the Gorce Mountains, and on Babia Góra, all located in the southern region of Poland.
